Todd James (REAS)

Bullies

1967, USA. Lives and works in New York and California.
Painter and graphic artist. He began drawing graffiti on streets and subway cars, gaining much notoriety in graffiti circles. He was introduced to the gallery world through his involvement with 'Street Market' (2000), a collaborative exhibition with artists Stephen Powers and Barry McGee. His work is composed of simple line drawings. Why James holds this fascination is a mystery and only adds to the bizarre combination of raw, street-inspired grittiness and cute, comic sensibilities. In addition to his painting work, Todd James has produced numerous illustrations for hip-hop record covers and has taken his graffiti influenced commercial art to clients including Nike, Adidas, and the Cartoon Network.

1967, EEUU.
