1975 (Madrid, Spain). Lives and works in Madrid.
Painter and urban interventionist. SpY is an artist from Madrid whose first urban performances began in the mid-eighties. A little later, he began to explore other forms of artistic communication in the street. His work consists of taking over urban elements by means of transformation or replica, the commentary on urban reality and the interference in his communicative codes. SpY’s pieces want to be a parenthesis in the automated inertia of the urbanite. Filled with equal parts of irony and positive humor, they appear to make the passer-by smile, incite reflexion, and to favor an enlightened conscience. He's been considered as "Spanish Banksy" in magazines like Juxtapoz, Wired and El País, among others.

Pintor e intervencionista urbano. SpY es un artista madrileño cuyas primeras actuaciones urbanas se remontan a mediados de los ochenta. Poco después, comienza a explorar otras formas de comunicación artística en la calle. Su trabajo consiste en la apropiación de elementos urbanos mediante la transformación o la réplica, el comentario sobre la realidad urbana y la intromisión en sus códigos comunicativos. Las obras de SpY pretenden ser un paréntesis en la inercia autómata del urbanita. Cargadas a partes iguales de ironía y un humor positivo, aparecen para contagiar una sonrisa, incitar una reflexión y favorecer una conciencia un poco más despierta. Ha sido considerado por las publicaciones Juxtapoz, Wired y El País, entre otras, el "Bansky español".
